Ulta points are worth more the longer you refuse to spend them

The single most valuable thing to know about shopping here has nothing to do with a code. Ulta's published redemption ladder is deliberately non-linear: 100 points takes $3 off, 250 takes $8, 500 takes $17.50, 750 takes $30, 1,000 takes $50 and 2,000 takes $125. Add one to two days of order processing on top of every one of those — the transit estimate does not include it. Return one item from a discounted multi-item order and you are refunded its discounted share, not its ticket price. Points earned on returned goods are removed from your balance, points you redeemed come back, and a partial return returns a prorated slice. Ulta states outright that you may not return products in order to repurchase them with a coupon, a special offer or points. Gift receipts within 60 days buy an exchange or merchandise credit only, single-use coupons used on the original order are not returnable, and salon wigs, hair extensions and intimate wellness devices cannot go back at all.
